What We Don’t Accept

Mayer Enterprises Waste Solutions takes the vast majority of household and construction waste. But Colorado landfill regulations and safety requirements mean a small number of items require special handling. Here's what we can't accept and why.

Items We Cannot Accept

• Hazardous chemicals — paint, stains, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, pool chemicals, propane tanks
• Tires — Colorado law requires separate recycling disposal for tires
• Refrigerants — refrigerators, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers containing Freon require certified disposal
• Batteries — car batteries, lithium-ion batteries, and large battery packs
• Asbestos — any materials suspected to contain asbestos require certified abatement
• Medical waste — sharps, biohazard materials
• Liquid waste — no liquids of any kind in our trailers

Where to Take Prohibited Items in Denver Metro

Jefferson County, Arapahoe County, Adams County, Douglas County, Boulder County, and Broomfield County all operate household hazardous waste programs. Search your county name plus "hazardous waste drop-off" for current locations and hours. Denver also runs periodic free hazardous waste collection events.

Everything Else — We Take It

Furniture, appliances, electronics, construction debris, yard waste, renovation materials, roofing, drywall, lumber, flooring, cabinets, fixtures, mattresses, clothing, boxes — if it's not on the prohibited list above, load it up. We'll handle it.
